Tapisseries Frelatées (Adulterated Tapestries) was the title of my first solo art show.
The basic idea stemmed from an attempt to deform the pixel. For the time being, the pixel remains the smallest digital visual particle we know and use. Until the day we find something even smaller, we must undertake a detailed and in-depth study of it. This is what I feel compelled to do and I try to put all my knowledge into this quest.
Art is our sole weapon against imagination, which remains mankind’s greatest limitation.
I stick to a critical outlook on the world, striving to remain impartial vis-à-vis the individual’s role in society; today’s individual feels much greater concern with the impacts of our recklessness in dealing with this world of ours, over the past decades. I am always striving to delimit ideas and soak up their substratum. To travel and take pictures, to reuse throwaway and recyclable materials , as well as newly manufactured components. To blend these into new mixes of colours and shapes with a medium that is said to be virtual, i.e. the pixel, which one might call the neo-substitute of the dot. To produce visual surprises by shedding artificial or natural light on eclectic works. To work on spatial layouts that create movement and literally get physical materials to come out of their frames.
